Pikes Peak

Heading to Pikes Peak

Done with Day 2

We are at the campground cleaning up after a great day of riding/  The weather was beautiful in the morning and basically stayed nice all day.  We stopped at the Gran Canyon Village for coffee and some sites before heading out to Durango.

I am having difficulties posting from my iPhone app – it wasn’t working today.  It just wasn’t a good tech day.  When we stopped in Cortez for coffee and tried to use the wi-fi there, I had nothing but trouble but eventually got those pictures to post.

It also appears the email notifications and text messaging isn’t working as plan, so you;ll just have to check in manually.  Once in Sturgis, it will be even harder because I don’t think we will find a campsite with wi-fi – so with my problems with the iPhone app, it doesn’t look to promising right now… 🙁

But still having a great time – eventhough I’m camping at 52!

Thanks for those hat post comments because I can get those on my iPhone and red them – we get laughs from them.

Tomorrow we may try to do Pikes Peak, which is a dirt road to about 14,000 feet.

Grand Canyon

Ok, I’m having difficulties with my WordPress iPhone app – it isn’t posting like it should.  So here is an update.

Great ride in the morning to the canyon.  Stopped at the village to take some pics before heading out.

Dinner in Williams

Done for the Day

KOA campground in Williams. We’ll go to town to eat a bit later. It is much cooler here. Overall a great day but HOT for most of it. Met about 40 bikers from Australia heading to Sturgis. Bunch of good mates they were…

O-Dark-Thirty

We started!

Road Trip! – What is new this time

Departure time will be Thursday, August 5th at O-dark-thirty!

This is the 70th year for the Sturgis Rally and Big Steve and I (JimmyV) are going again to see if anything has changed – lol.  It only seems to get bigger, although the economy has put a dent in it lately.  Still about 500,000 to 700,000 bikes are expected during the rally – they may not be there all at once as the rally lasts a week (or two?).

We will try and post while we are riding, but we also are beta testing a new SPOT plug-in on this web page.  A sample of it is below.  Go under the “Current Location and Weather” tab to learn how to use it, then come back here to the map below to test it out.  Below is a trip I took last week to the Mid-State fair grounds in Paso Robles with Shai to see Aerosmith play.  If you click on the points, you’ll get weather and street view info.  This year while we are riding, you can follow along on the “Current Location” tab and see the weather that we are riding in and the area too.

But we want comments because we should be able to read them when we stop for gas or coffee.  So post a comment now so I can clear you from moderation before we leave.

So Read up on the other pages, SUBSCRIBE, learn the site, and sit back on ride with us while your at work!
